Position and Hold

I can't take off yet as the other airplane has not cleared the runway. Sometimes it takes a while for the landing airplane to slow down enough to turn off of the runway. The tower will call me when it is clear for us to take off. If there is wind, they will say so. Generally they like to say variable at something instead of saying different things for every plane that wishes to take off.
