Remove Left Wing Tie Down

Because I hangar 146 I don't generally tie down the aircraft but it stays on my checklist as there are times I do tie it down. I took this photo over on the north ramp where the plane was tied down for two years.

And of course I missed getting the connection at the airplane but you get the idea. Notice the plastic wheel chock under the left wheel. A good friend made two for me and I do use one around the left main wheel in the hangar. One thing nice about it is that when the tire pressure is low it will not fit. I have a small air tank that I use to pressurize the tires with. The mains get 22 lbs. PSI while the front tire gets pressurized to 30 lbs.PSI These tie down chains vary a lot. The Glendale airport has nice straps that are pulled from recessed places on the ramp where these chains are quite rusty. I like to make them pretty tight as the plane bangs around a lot in the wind if they are loose.
